Summary of who we are looking for: • Our Family Law Attorney is a champion who loves communicating with clients and helping them move forward in a strategic fashion so they can reach their goals faster. • Our Family Law Attorney takes the time to understand what brought the client in and what they genuinely want, so we can orchestrate a plan using the legal process. • Our Family Law Attorney takes the time to formulate a strategic plan to best position the client for the desired result and presents that strategy to both the client and the rest of the legal team so everyone is on the same page. • Our Family Law Attorney performs legal services such as legal analysis, legal strategy planning, overseeing and analyzing discovery and legal pleadings, conferring with other attorneys, presenting to the court, and advising clients, to name a few. • Likewise, our Family Law Attorney understands the value of delegating to others on the team and creating a team approach to get more done in less time. • Our Family Law Attorney also enjoys opportunities to network with other colleagues and community members to build the reputation of the Halligan LLC and the Team in the community. Responsibilities: • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date • Engage in Preliminary Legal Strategy Sessions with clients to fully understand the facts and the goals in order to perform legal analysis and legal strategy planning. • Engage with Legal Team to share legal strategy on each case so the legal team can be in alignment with the client’s interest in reaching their goal, the team’s interest in moving clients forward and the Firm’s interest in creating raving fans. • Communicate with clients and advise clients on key junctures so they fully understand their options and can make a fully informed decision. • Oversee and analyze discovery and legal pleadings drafted by the Legal Team and provide feedback and guidance to create a stronger work product and streamlined processes. • Confer with other attorneys on a case with advocacy and professionalism. • Prepare memorandums to the file and correspondence throughout the case to appropriately apprise team members and the client of the status of the last 2 steps taken and the next 3 steps planned, so everyone understands the plan. Qualifications: • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required • Experience with complex family law cases, particularly those involving business interests, executive compensation, and intricate financial issues. • Capability of handling a caseload of a minimum of 20-30 active domestic relations cases while simultaneously monitoring and recording billable hours. • Highly valued personal traits include integrity, intelligence, character, responsiveness, and professional demeanor. • Demonstrated dedication to continuous professional growth, involvement in legal education programs, and awareness of knowledge gaps. • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, including the ability to establish boundaries and prioritize tasks while meeting job demands. • Exceptional professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, including documentation of essential communications, explaining cost-benefit analyses, and keeping clients apprised of the status of their case. Compensation: $130,000 $200,000+ yearly
