Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling sensitive legal issues such as domestic abuse, child custody modification, and domestic violence is also a must. Responsibilities: • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action Qualifications: • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of Maryland • Must have handled at least 30 hearings and/or trials in the Circuit Court • Have represented and/or consulted with at least 200 family law clients • Demonstrated ability to educate clients through a family law case • Knowledgeable regarding family law practice and procedure within Maryland counties, including Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Prince George's County • Research facts and evidence involved in each case, such as financial records, evaluations, home studies, expert reports, and pleadings • Develop case strategies, including opportunities for quick and cost-effective resolutions for clients rather than time-consuming and expensive litigation • A compassionate advocate with experience navigating high-conflict, emotional cases with a client-centered approach • Ability to delegate to paralegals and legal assistants when necessary What type of person are we looking for?
