    FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY (3 plus years of experience) Job Title: Mid-Level Family Law Attorney Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated Mid-Level Family Law Attorney to lead cases through all stages of litigation and settlement. This role requires a balance of sharp legal strategy and high-level empathy to guide clients through complex divorce, custody, and asset division matters. You will handle your own caseload while collaborating with partners on high-stakes litigation. Location: Sauganash neighborhood of Chicago (near Peterson and Cicero). Hours: Full-time. Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience. All applications are strictly confidential. Job Type: Full-time Responsibilities: • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings • Keep client files properly organized and up to date Case Management: Manage family law matters from initial intake through final resolution, including divorce, paternity, child custody, and domestic violence cases. Litigation & Advocacy: Represent clients in contested hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations. Draft and argue complex motions and trial briefs. Legal Drafting: Prepare high-quality legal documents, including settlement agreements, parenting plans, discovery requests/responses, and financial affidavits. Client Counsel: Provide strategic advice tailored to each client's unique goals; maintain regular communication to keep clients informed of case progress and legal options. Strategy & Collaboration: Develop comprehensive case strategies and collaborate with support staff (paralegals and assistants) to ensure efficient case flow. Qualifications: • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background Skills Experience: 3–7 years of experience specifically in family law or civil litigation with a strong emphasis on family matters. Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school. Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar (or relevant state bar). Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal research (Westlaw/LexisNexis) and case management software, such as Clio. Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation and "people skills"; ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally charged situations. (Chicago, IL Market) 3+ years of Family Law Attorney experience a must. Have Court Room Experience. Contested hearing experience a must. Trial experience a plus. Spanish fluency a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of organization/multi-tasker. Ability to handle a busy caseload. Experience drafting pleadings. Proficient in Legal Software (Family Law Software, Excel, Clio—or other billing software). Ability to think critically on your feet. Manage client files from start to finish. Communication Skills. Compensation: $70,000 - $95,000 yearly
