Enhanced Support Specialist QP - 900546
The Enhanced Support Services Qualified Professional, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director or Designee, is responsible for the provision of therapeutic services to consumers enrolled in the Enhanced Support Services Program with Family Preservation Services of North Carolina, Inc. The ESS Qualified Professional is responsible providing community-based rehabilitative services and interventions necessary to treat children and adolescents to achieve their mental health and/or substance abuse recovery goals and to assist parents and other caregivers in helping the identified consumer build resiliency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Link consumers to and coordinate necessary services to promote clinical stability and meet the mental health/substance abuse treatment, social and other treatment support needs while supporting the emotional and functional growth and development of the consumer
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of delivery of all services and supports identified in the Person Centered Plan.
Facilitation of the Person Centered Planning process with the Child and Family Team which includes the child, parent or legal guardian, and others identified as important in the recipient’s life.
Initial development, implementation and ongoing revision of the Person Centered Plan
Monitor the implementation of the Person Centered Plan, including involvement of other medical and non-medical providers, the child and the family, and other natural and community supports. Provide therapeutic interventions that directly increase the acquisition of skills needed to accomplish the goals of the Person Centered Plan
Assist consumer and family in identifying and self-management of symptoms
Assist consumer and family in identifying and self-management of triggers and cues (early warning signs)
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions as evidenced by symptom reduction and progress towards goals identified in the Person Centered Plan.
Knowledge of:
QP who has the knowledge, skills and abilities required by the population and age to be served to provide coordination of care and case coordination tasks

Meet state standards to be credentialed as a Qualified Professional by the State of North Carolina Skills in:

Planning, coordinating and implementing treatment services to identified consumers, cognizant of cultural, ethnic, and environmental differences
TRAVEL
This position requires travel of approximately 50% of the time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education or related field and has one-year post degree experience providing direct service to the population served.
OR
A graduate of a college or university with a baccalaureate degree in a related human service field and has two years of full-time post-baccalaureate experience providing direct service to the population served.
OR
A graduate of a college or university with a baccalaureate degree in a non-human services degree and four years full-time post-baccalaureate experience providing direct service to the population served.
QUALIFICATIONS
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
