    SUMMARYThe START Program Coordinator serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of substance abuse services staff to develop comprehensive service plans for START clients. Interface with HHS START social workers in the needs assessment process for clients and families.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Consistently maintain established productivity requirements for delivering direct, billable services to assigned clients.• Provide Community Support services or other functions of a Qualified Mental Health Professional [QMHP] as appropriate, necessary and/or required.• Cooperatively perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and Core Values of FPS.Knowledge of:• Mental health or human services system• Child and Adolescent development/needs/behavior• Child and/or Adult psychopathology• Person-Centered Planning Philosophy• System of Care Philosophy• Evidenced-Based Best Practices• Family systems and family dynamics• Medical/Clinical and Medicaid documentation standards and practices• Community resources, natural/informal supports• Cultural Competence• DSM-IV• Knowledge of mandated reporting requirments• State Service Definitions

    Skills in:• Using effective time management skills to complete required job duties• Effective interpersonal communication skills• Effective and timely documenation skills• Establishing effective clinical relationships with clients and families• Maintaining appropriate boundaries with clients, families, collaterals and other professionals• Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with staff and collaterals in community agenicies, medical practices & facilities, etc.• Professional networking in community to idenfity and access community resources for clients• Understanding how to operationalize State Service Definitions• Organizing, facilitating, and leading treatment team meetings• Assessing needs, developing and implementing treatment plans• Troubleshooting, analyzing, evaluating and problem-solving situations and information. Using sound judgment to make decisions and determine appropriate course of action• Planning, coordinating, and implementing treatment services to identified clients, while being cognizant of cultural, ethnic, and environmental differences• Crisis intervention with consumer/family member, including implementation of plan of safety• Skills and abilities in using a computer: proficient skills in using email, Word software, etc.TRAVEL• This position requires travel of approximately 50% of the time.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE1. A graduate of a college or university with a Master’s Degree in a human service field. The individual must hold an unrestricted license issued by a licensing board in one of the following disciplines: psychology, psychiatry, social work, or counseling.Or2. A graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in a human service field. The individual must be Provisionally Licensed by the Social Work Board or Board Eligible by the NC Counseling Board or an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS• Licensure of LCW, LCSW-A, LPC, LPC-A, LCAS, LCAS-A, LMFT
