    FPS of NC is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor. The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor is an Associate Professional (AP) or a Paraprofessional (Para) according to 10A NCAC 27G.0104 who is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and montioring consumer participation in therapeutic and rehabilitative services that meet the service definition requirements for Psychosical Rehabilitation (PSR) services found in Clinical Coverage Policy 8A. The PSR Counselor is responsible for ensuring that PSR services offered to individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses are provided in an efficient and effective manner and that treatment outcomes for consumers are maximized. PSR Counselors provide direct services focused on skill building and resource development activities and work within a team under the guidance and supervision of the Program Director who is a Qualified Professional according to 10A NCAC 27G.0104. The PRS counselor is a supportive, collaborative and contributing team member who works to promote a consumer’s self determination, skills, resources, and natural/community supports in real world environments.

    Required Education, Experience and Supervision for the PARAPROFESSIONAL:

    "Paraprofessional" within the mh/dd/sas system of care means an individual who, with the exception of staff providing respite services or personal care services, has a GED or high school diploma; or no GED or high school diploma, employed prior to November 1, 2001 to provide a mh/dd/sa service. Supervision shall be provided by a qualified professional or associate professional with the population served. The supervisor and the employee shall develop an individualized supervision plan upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan annually.

    Required Licenses: Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a safe driving record.
