    Job Description

     A Los Angeles based family office with assets nationwide seeks a thoroughly organized, professional Staff Accountant. The position will work in an office in Van Nuys with other accountants working on the family office’s portfolio. This role calls for someone to work in a comfortable and dynamic environment whereby the role will be working with both their colleagues as well as the family office’s asset management company, which is based in a different office. The candidate will be able to manage a variety of tasks that include day-to-day accounting, collections, and other tasks described below.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and related analysis of various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
    • Work closely on collections with the Senior Asset Manager of the portfolio.
    • Complete CAM reconciliations in a timely fashion
    • Develop and document policies and procedures
    • Work collaboratively to develop and lead process improvement initiatives
    • Partner with colleagues to develop an in-depth knowledge of the company’s operations in order to provide accurate, complete and timely operational financial statements
    • Participate in and/or lead various projects, meetings, and/or other accounting functions as assigned by management.
    • Responsible for the preparation of deadline-driven reporting, including financial statements, capital account statements and portfolio company valuations
    • Resolve discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or documented transactions
    • Responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable processing Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Experience using Yardi
    • 1-5 years of retail accounting experience
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize numerous projects while maintaining attention to detail
    • Sound written and verbal communication skills
    • The ability to develop positive relationships with regional accounting and payroll departments
