    Family Recovery Coach

    As a part of the Community and Law Enforcement for Addiction Recovery (CLEAR) program, the Family Recovery Coach will assist in post-overdose outreaches to provide support to families and connect them with services specific to their needs. The Family Recovery Coach will provide ongoing recovery planning and support to families of individuals with a substance use disorder in Western Connecticut.

    Non- Exempt, Full time

    Hourly rate starts at $26.00

    QUALIFICATIONS

    A person with lived experience is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience working in substance use disorder treatment and/or mental health field is required.

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires frequent sitting, ability to talk and hear. It also requires frequent walking. Occasional lifting may be needed but not required except for proper storage of documents and charts and moving objects from one place to another.

    Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide recovery coaching to families of individuals with a substance use disorder, including the development of a family recovery and wellness plan.
    • Develop relationships with referral sources and community partners.
    • Provide recovery coaching to family members as part of CLEAR outreach and post-overdose follow-ups.
    • Offer ongoing support, education, referrals, and resources regarding the family members role in recovery.
    • Facilitate in person or virtual support groups.
    • Enters documentation into electronic health record timely and complying with regulatory guidelines.
    • Provide presentations and community education on family recovery coaching.
    • Provide harm reduction services, including access to syringe services, naloxone training, and drug testing supplies as needed.
    • Identifies client needs outside the scope of the agency and assists clients by making appropriate referrals, utilizing other support systems and available community resources.
    • Identifies clients who are experiencing barriers to accessing services and addresses said needs through facilitating securement of entitlements and resources.
    • Participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings as required to ensure quality of care offered to clients. Attends regularly scheduled supervision.
    • Some weekend or second-shift hours may be required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
