    Job Summary

    The Family Services Intake Coordinator (FSIC) will support families in need of decent and affordable housing solutions by serving as the first point of contact for prospects seeking assistance for all homeownership programming. The FSIC is responsible for conducting initial application intake, managing the application process and assessing eligibility for MHFH homeownership programs. Additionally, they provide support to the Family Services department through case management of approved Partner Families and tracking their progress towards closing of their MHFH home.

    Responsibilities:

    Applicant Recruitment:

    • Conduct orientation sessions for prospects seeking homeownership opportunities
    • Respond to inquiries about MHFH homeowner programs and services via phone, email and walk-ins
    • Represent MHFH at community events/fairs, businesses and partner organizations for recruitment of new applicants
    • Case manage applicant files for accuracy and update applicant tracking database

    Partner Family Coordination

    • Establish and maintain regular communication with Partner Families, MHFH construction department and ReStores to coordinate sweat equity
    • Track and prepare monthly sweat equity reports ensuring PF progress towards closing
    • Track HUD homebuyer education completion
    • Case manage Partner Family files for accuracy through monthly collection of income and asset documentation

    Loan Processing/Applicant Review:

    • Assist applicants in completing their loan applications using applicant management databases
    • Collect, review and evaluate prospective homeowner applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility based on MHFH program requirements
    • Follow up with applicants and provide updates on their application status accordingly
    • Maintain quality assurance guidelines with homeowner applicant files

    Other duties as assigned:

    Perform other administrative duties as requested to support the mission and function of Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience working with a diverse population
    • Demonstrates initiative through a strong sense of urgency, enthusiasm, and energy while effectively managing multiple tasks
    • Maintain a professional, dependable, respectful, and patient approach in all interactions and responsibilities
    • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of assignments
    • Strong organizational skills to manage and meet deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
    • Expertise in credit, debt, and financial management, including budgeting/savings strategies
    • Commitment to affordable housing and Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity’s mission

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • College degree preferred
    • Reliable private transportation is required. Valid WI Drivers license and good driving record.
