Are you passionate about helping children, families, and vulnerable individuals? We are seeking a dedicated Family Services Worker I to provide case management, advocacy, and support services that strengthen families and improve lives throughout the Norfolk community.
What You'll Do
- Conduct assessments of family and individual needs
- Develop and implement service plans
- Investigate reports involving child, adult, and family welfare concerns
- Maintain accurate case records and reports
- Coordinate services with community organizations and agencies
- Provide crisis intervention and advocacy services
- Participate in court proceedings and prepare case documentation
- Conduct home visits and client interviews
- Assist families in accessing resources related to housing, food, healthcare, and other support services
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field
OR
Bachelor's Degree in any field with at least two years of related Human Services experience
Preferred:
- BSW or MSW degree
- Virginia Social Worker License
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on assignment
- Ability to complete required state-mandated training
- Strong communication, documentation, and case management skills
