Family Support Therapist (Hourly, pay per session)
CHADS Coalition for Mental Health is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.
Program Description:
CHADS Family Support program is dedicated to ensuring that families have the emotional support and the key resources they need to navigate a challenging mental health care system. Through counseling, support groups, and post-crisis intervention (Postvention), CHADS assists families who are struggling with problems such as depression, anxiety, bullying, self-injury, and thoughts of suicide. Our target population is young people aged 25 and under who struggle with depression, self-injury behaviors or emotional issues.
Job Description:
The Family Support (FS) Therapist is a part-time position embedded in the Legacy Center throughout the course of the year or as directed by the Program Manager. The clinician will work at least 3 days per week Monday-Friday with the potential for some evenings.
Responsibilities:
Assessment, treatment, and resource development to navigate the mental health and social service systems
In-person or Tele Behavioral Health therapeutic counseling services for children/adolescents with emotional or mental health challenges or in suicidal crises
Conduct billable hours consisting of counseling, group counseling, case management, and school support services
Facilitating therapeutic support groups for adolescents with mental health challenges
Crosstrain in CHADS SEL curriculum in order to provide mentoring services as needed at TLC
Accurately track, record, and report data for all family support contacts in a timely manner
Assist with Suicide Risk Assessment Trainings and Training Trusted Adults presentations on as-needed basis
Assist in Signs of Suicide presentations, mentoring, or school staff training as needed
Support with assessment process following SOS presentations for clients in the 24:1 Community
Provide support materials & resource development
Compensation is for billable activities, required meeting times, and professional development/training only
Any task assigned by the Family Support Program Manager, Chief Program Office, or Chief Executive Officer
Qualifications:
LMSW or PLPC with experience working with populations age 10-25 and parents
Comfortable with virtual/tele-behavioral health platforms
Effective organizational and record keeping skills
Dynamic and clear communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge and compassion regarding crisis intervention and suicide prevention
Salary Range: $37+ per billable hour
