    TAX ACCOUNTANT (CPA/EA)

    Fanty, Koleda & Associates is a full-service tax and accounting firm. We provide a broad range of services to small businesses, individuals, and their related entities. Our team of licensed and experienced tax professionals have been serving the South Jersey and Philadelphia metropolitan area for over 30 years. We are affordable, experienced, and treat our clients like family.

    We are seeking a tax accountant with 5+ years of public accounting experience specializing in preparing and reviewing tax returns as well as preparing financial statements, etc. Someone that is a self-starter, self-motivated and can be a right-hand person to the owner. (Potential ownership equity for the right individual)

    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    - Prepare and/or review individual, business, fiduciary, and tax-exempt tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120s, 1120, 1041, and 990)

    • Prepare and/or Review Federal and State payroll tax returns

    • Prepare and/or Review State sales tax returns

    • Research and/or consult on various tax matters

    • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities

    • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards

    SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare Financial Statements

    • Prepare Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations

    • Prepare Ad Hoc reports

    • Assist with organizational projects/tasks as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study (Business, Finance, Economics) required.

    • 5+ years of public accounting experience required

    • CPA/EA license or actively pursuing

    • Must have active PTIN

    • Experience preparing and reviewing Business and Individual Tax Returns

    • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts (preparing journal entries using QuickBooks, reconciling bank and credit card statements, etc.)

    • Self-Starter is a must! Someone who is motivated to set and achieve goals and takes initiative within the workplace

    • Experience with Drake Tax Preparation Software (Preferred)

    • Experience with QuickBooks Accounting Software (Preferred)

    • Excellent Customer Service Skills with Strong Written and Verbal Communication

    • Strong Technical and Analytical skills

    • Excellent problem-solving skills a must!

    • Knowledge of Windows Based Computers and Microsoft Programs

    • Ability to work Nights and Weekends during tax season (January through April) required

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as needed

    • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

    • Good time/task management

    ** We offer a very flexible schedule and promote a work-life balance, especially outside of tax season. (Summer Fridays, PTO, etc.) For reference, I have attached a spreadsheet to illustrate what the working hours would look like for a typical year. The idea is that tax season would require some extra hours, Saturdays, etc. BUT, outside of tax season it would be a 32-35 hour work week and in the summer we close the office on Fridays between Memorial Day to Labor Day. ** Compensation based on Experience.
