    Job Description

    We are leading the way in product R&D and services for in vitro diagnostic (IVD), biological therapy, and precise diagnosis and treatment. We are committed to innovation in biotechnology and now building an R&D Center of Excellence in the Bay Area focusing on single-molecule sequencing technology, to meet the future needs of novel diagnostics and therapeutics.

    We are currently seeking a self-driven biophysicist/physicist in the Bay Area, CA to lead the effort of investigating molecular systems at the single molecule level and developing a sequencing platform. The ideal candidate will be at the Principal Scientist level. The candidate will be responsible for forming strategies, executing plans, analyzing results, and brainstorming innovative ideas to design and engineer a high-throughput sensing platform.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and execute single molecule experiments of nanopore proteins and DNA using the multi-channel electrical detection platform.
    • Launch and perform exploratory research to optimize single-molecule biophysical methods for nanopore sequencing.
    • Conduct the systematic analysis and modeling of protein and DNA dynamics.
    • Establish collaboration with other functions (IC design, System Engineering, Software) and communicate them with the feedback from the protein engineering team.
    • Aggregate experimental data using various software tools and present their summary at the internal meetings.
    • Lead and mentor independent scientists while performing best laboratory practices and maintaining a well-organized and concise record of data.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or a related biological/life science field, with 5+ years of research experience in relevant industries
    • Strong quantitative analysis, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis skills
    • Working knowledge of LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent programming/scripting languages for data analysis
    • Ability to work well in teams and across disciplines

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience developing and integrating hardware and software components in data acquisition and fluidics
    • Ability to manage and balance multiple projects in a dynamic environment
    • Effective verbal and written communication
    • Goal-oriented team player with a good work ethic
    • Scientific enthusiasm and integrity
