Accountant Position
HnV Holdings, LLC is a startup specializing in genetics, nursery and cultivation operations. Located in Northridge, CA, our culture is fast paced, customer centric and innovative; executed in a fun, team-based environment. The Junior Accountant position plays a key role in the success of our business. The successful candidate will be able to perform assigned duties safely and efficiently in a production environment. This position will interact with employees, managers, and production staff. The Junior Accountant must present themselves with the professionalism and discretion appropriate for each interactive situation.
SUMMARY
We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant who we can rely on to execute daily accounting tasks. Our ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running, while working in a team-based environment. As a Junior Accountant you will perform accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, you will assist in the preparation and submission of taxes and other financial reports. You will process payroll taxes and reconcile ledgers. You will be responsible for staying abreast of both tax and cannabis regulatory guidelines, as well as GAAP standards. You could be an ideal candidate if you have a bachelor's degree in accounting, a minimum of 1 to 2 years of work experience, and a working knowledge of QuickBooks and MS Office products. Being resourceful, thinking outside the box, with the ability to keep information confidential are also key for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Processes A/P and A/R transactions
· Reconciles accounts receivable and accounts payable detail and control accounts.
· Reconciles bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
· Performs cash reconciliations.
· Issues and prepares sales invoices.
· Processes payroll taxes.
· Processes and posts journal entries.
· Assists other departments such as HR and Marketing with reviewing of expenses.
· Assists with month-end and year-end closing.
· Assists in completing audits.
· Secures financial information by completing database backups, keeping information confidential.
· Maintains accounting controls by following company policies and procedures.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
QUALIFICATIONS
· English (Required).
· US work authorization (Required).
· BA in Accounting or Finance (Preferred).
· GAAP Accounting: 2 years (Preferred).
· Accounts Payable: 2 years (Preferred).
· Accounts Receivable: 2 years (Preferred).
· QuickBooks: 2 years (Preferred).
· Microsoft Office Suite: 2 years (Preferred).
· Fishbowl Inventory (Preferred).
· Excellent problem-solving.
· Able to maintain confidentiality.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
· Must have reliable transportation and be willing to commute to Northridge, CA.
· Firm grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles.
· Willingness to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
· Comfortable handling and storing confidential financial information.
· Ability to compile professional and thorough accounting reports.
· Can produce high-quality work regularly.
