Job Purpose:
This role involves setting up and breaking down the farmers market booth, managing sales transactions, maintaining inventory accuracy, replenishing products throughout the shift, and providing exceptional customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Set up the farmers market booth, including canopies, tables, signage, and displays
Sort and organize all items for easy access during market
Set up product displays with clear labels for each item
Prepare the POS system and count and record the cash bank before opening
Greet customers warmly and maintain enthusiasm when selling products
Provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries based on extensive knowledge of all products
Process transactions using the POS system and handle cash responsibly.
Bag purchased items efficiently while ensuring accuracy
Monitor inventory throughout the shift
Remove sold-out items from the display promptly
Refresh display so that it remains visually appealing throughout market
Track leftover inventory and enter on Average Retail Sales sheet at the end of the shift
Complete Daily Write-Up providing detailed information about market including things like most popular items, customer feedback, and any relevant notes from the market day.
Wipe down bread display, inside of cooler and cooler bags, etc.
Split cash tips evenly between cashiers working the shift.
Reconcile cash, complete FM Cash Drawer spreadsheet and close out the POS system.
Place POS equipment and cash pouch in the designated FM bin for drivers to pick up.
Distribute any leftover products not donated as per company policy (e.g., take home or redistribute)
Break down all equipment, including canopies, tables, signage, and displays.
Assist drivers as needed if for unloading and picking up equipment/products.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess excellent basic math and computer skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Customer satisfaction-oriented and sales skills
Working Conditions and Expectations:
Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop
Work schedule will may vary between early mornings, weekends and holidays
Shifts will range from 6 – 8 hours and you may at times be asked to work overtime

Follow direction given by managers at the farmers markets and act respectfully toward the market staff

Physical Requirements:
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Repetitive tasks with few breaks
Be able to work in a standing position for up to 10 hours.
