We are a Boston based start-up technology company looking for a technician to operate state of the art equipment for production of nanomaterial.  We are looking for a valued technical expert, who, recognized and supported by management and a stable work environment, can deliver quality work on a consistent basis. The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. We need a methodical, patient, detailed oriented team player, who cares for accuracy and is a helpful and supportive communicator. Job knowledge and competency is built through structured step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers. 

     Job Responsibilities:

    • Run fabrication processes repetitively and follow procedures to run processes related to the growth of carbon nanotube synthesis
    • Set up and operate production equipment including vacuum ovens and pumps
    • Detailed documentation of process methods and results
    • Inspect and test finished products for quality, functionality, and adherence to specifications
    • Measure and record data associated with fabrication processes
    • Perform basic maintenance on various machines
    • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products
    • Follow all regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.

    Job Requirements

    • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
    • Excellent documentation and communication skills
    • Computer skills for preliminary report generation (MS Office: Power Point, Word and Excel)
    • Experience with any of the following is a plus: chemical vapor deposition reactors, sputtering machines or other types of deposition machines, vacuum pumps and/or vacuum ovens, temperature controllers, mass flow controllers, LabView for control of electromechanical equipment; any controlled environment reactors or machines
    • Must be open to learning new work skills, processes, and procedures that may be different from previous work experiences

    We offer a total estimated compensation package of $21.36/HR - $26.10/HR (comprised of a base wage of $16.43/HR - $20.08/HR + up to 30% potential bonus based on meeting divisional and company KPIs which is paid out quarterly.)
