POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Prototype CNC Machinist to join the team at FATHOM's Oakland Headquarters. This opportunity will allow you to manage and lead machining projects in our state-of-the-art production facility. Someone who would be excited to explore new solutions within this arena, while managing fast-paced prototype and short run production opportunities, will be the right person for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate in a CNC production area which includes: HAAS 3 and 5-axis vertical milling machines and lathes 
• Drive external client and internal R&D projects that involve programming and machining complex components and fixtures
• Program and Machine prototype and short run production projects
• Manage multiple concurrent machining jobs with set timelines
• Work within all shop safety standards and regulations
• Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership and exploring new opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 3+ years of machining experience with good understanding of G-code
• Proficient in programming complex tool paths, both 2.5D and 3D surfacing
• Experience using HAAS control
• Advanced CAD/CAM proficiency in protoyping environment
• Experience with Solidworks CAD and HSMworks CAM software preferred
• Ability to create fixtures in CAD and manipulate models to aid in machining process
• Experience with machining injection mold tooling preferred
• Ability to work independently and with a team environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
