Candidates I'm seeking out NEED to sustain their energy, be a team player, sustain their energy, and prevail an 8-10 hour day for 5- 6 days a week. This position is not at all pleasant on your joints, back, feet, neck, arms, legs, knees, and hands. A Courier is now required to physically be shaped; as to be able to Run, Jump, Crawl, Climb, Squat, Lean, and Bend. An essential requirement must have the ability to lift more than 60-70 lbs. minimum. *****An example of a possible package weighing up to 65-70 lbs.; a large box filled with 3-4 bags of cat litter, and the manufacturer didn't correctly tape the parcel to keep the flaps from popping open. As you get ready to deliver this parcel to the recorded address label

and didn't notice the tape wasn't correctly aligned along the flaps meeting together. You go to lift it onto your shoulder to make it a quick trip to the residents' front door and didn't realize the tape from the manufacturers wasn't properly strapped correctly. The parcel isn't as strong as it was when it was being shipped and placed into a trailer. The weight of the contents starts to fall out of the parcel. As a courier, you have to decide within a split second. Either, allow the contents to just fall out, and fall to the floor, or try to catch the contents before it leaves your grip. So it's either save your footing or save the package. Honestly, as a courier, I've had to make that decision more than I can think of. Season changes, potholes, sewage drains, house pets digging holes, wildlife borough holes, etc... etc...there's an abundance of things a courier must observe and multitask many other activities daily while delivering. As a well-known experienced courier, I advise that this is not for a pessimist.

Must have own transportation to and from the work site. Must be able to work a 6 day work week. Must be able to work on Sundays. Must be able to drive 16' box truck or van, as stated above. Must pass a DOT physical and drug screening. Must be able to follow manifests, efficiently load trucks, access computers for Safety driving training, and be able to learn scanner codes and their correct purposes.
