Job Summary

Baristas are skilled in making various coffee beverages and often specialize in espresso-based drinks. To be a Federal barista, you must be a natural people person, passionate about our products, listen intently to our guests’ desires and go above and beyond their expectations.

Responsibilities • Greeting guest in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders • Brewing coffee, pulling espresso shots, and preparing other beverages following specific recipes • Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries • Answering guest’ questions about menu choices • Promoting and recommending menu options to guest • Taking payment from guest • Tracking and ordering inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins and cups • Ensuring that coffee beans, milk, and other supplies are well-stocked and organized • Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs • Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized

Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years prior quality experience as a barista • Thrives on being hospitable • Comfortable interacting with a variety of people • Positive attitude, able to work well under pressure and has a sense of urgency • Excellent listening and communication skills • Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-pace and high-volume environment with other Baristas

Compensation Range: $2.13/ hour plus tips
