Data Engineer – Defense & Federal Sector

    About the Role

Are you a data engineering expert ready to make a real impact on national security? We're looking for a talented and driven Data Engineer to join our fast-growing team supporting critical Defense sector initiatives. In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of cutting-edge data technology and mission-driven work — designing and building the data infrastructure that powers decisions at the highest levels of government.

If you thrive in complex, high-stakes environments and love architecting elegant solutions to hard problems, this is the opportunity for you.

    What You'll Do

    • Design, develop, and deploy robust end-to-end data pipelines using ETL processes and modern tools including Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks.
    • Build scalable, high-performance data pipelines from the ground up, engineered for reliability and efficiency.
    • Lead data cleansing, integration, and quality assurance efforts to maintain the integrity of large, complex datasets.
    • Apply big data technologies to process and analyze the high-volume datasets common in federal agency environments.
    • Diagnose and resolve complex data issues, delivering creative and lasting solutions.
    • Develop and enforce data governance policies that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams — including data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders — to translate data requirements into optimized models and architectures.
    • Deliver timely, accurate data insights that directly support mission-critical decision-making.

    What You Bring

    • 5–10+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with a proven track record of building data pipelines from scratch.
    • Deep proficiency in ETL processes and demonstrated expertise with Databricks, Python, Spark, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks.
    • Strong scripting skills in Python and SQL.
    • Experience working with large-scale datasets and leveraging big data technologies for efficient processing and analysis.
    • Solid understanding of data modeling, data visualization, database design principles, and data governance.
    • Sharp analytical thinking and a methodical approach to solving complex, ambiguous data challenges.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — you know how to work across teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (required).
  • Compensation
    $160,000 per year
