    POSITION SUMMARY:

    FAS is hiring an inaugural Chief Finance Officer to oversee its finance, human resources and organizational operations functions as it scales its impact, increasing annual revenue to approximately $24M.  As a member of the Executive team, the CFO will provide high-level fiscal management, oversee accounting and contract administration and lead human resources for FAS. The CFO will ensure financial transparency across the organization, refine contracting and people planning routines and support FAS as it continues to scale its impact and operate as a strong, healthy and efficient organization. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will serve as a liaison to the Board as well as key external stakeholders necessary.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Partner with Leadership Team to drive financial and operational strategy across Finance, HR, IT, accounting, and contracting;

    • Supervise the Finance, HR and Operations team to ensure that FAS can absorb growth, maintain a strong organizational culture and deliver on its organization goals;

    • Inform growth and scaling activities to ensure sustainability and cohesion between strategy, financial planning and program implementation matching resources with impact strategies especially as FAS continues to scale its impact and double in size growing from $12 to 24M in annual revenue;

    • Serve alongside the leadership team as a liaison to the board, and staff the budget and finance committee;

    • Design and maintain streamlined financial planning routines including forward facing scenario planning, financial modeling and resource allocation across multiple multi-million-dollar programs;

    • Refine and oversee the organization’s talent lifecycle team, including providing guidance on talent identification, acquisition and growth

    • Refine and oversee the organization’s performance review process focusing on continual professional development 

    • Develop, review and continually improve organization’s salary and benefits package to ensure market relevance, equity and alignment as the organization seeks to increase its staff from 30 - 60 ppl. 

    • Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement across accounting, human resources and contracting functions;

    • Partner with programmatic leads to ensure transparency of budgets, planning, and budgets to actual.

    • Lead annual budget planning cycles across programs and organization

    QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED:  The FAS team is seeking an entrepreneurial, ambitious, and resourceful individual who is comfortable in a lean and agile environment, and has previous job experience in a similar dynamic setting. Specifically, FAS seeks a candidate who has:

    • 10+ years of financial executive leadership experience.  Experience in supporting social-impact organizations preferred;

    • Capacity to evolve budget planning and budget to actual routines to meet the diverse needs of the staff, leadership and the Board of Directors;

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean organization that must continually adapt to an ever changing policy environment;

    • Experience developing new financial planning and management routines as well as right-sizing processes and solutions to meet the needs of a growing organization;

    • Expertise in overseeing people management, hiring and staffing routines and architecting benefits packages for a medium size organization; 

    • Ability to develop and continually enhance systems and processes that support the organizational culture and team focused on results;

    • Experience overseeing auditing, financial system integration and CRM solutions a plus;

    • Mission-driven individual with strong judgment, interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment required.
