  • Responsibilities

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

    This position reports to the Pricing Manager

    PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

    Under general direction, the Pricing Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of pricing and income management for products priced within the ERP system. You will work directly with the purchasing, formulation, sales, and customer service teams to ensure products are priced within the target margins set by sales, technical and marketing leadership.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyze pricing data from company standards, previous sales trends, and competitive intel.

    • Establish market prices on finished goods across several business/species lines.

    • Collaborate with sales and marketing to determine and uphold competitive pricing strategies.

    • Work with Purchasing to ensure that raw materials are costed accurately and verify abnormal changes reflecting true market values.

    • Work closely with Plant and Operations to make sure accurate manufacturing overheads and freight costs are reflected in the pricing model.

    • execute approved pricing strategies accurately and timely within the system and verify that any adjustments are warranted, approved, and executed.

    • Identify ways to increase profits.

    • Identify ways to make the pricing process efficient and standardized across the company.

    • Business acumen and understanding of market trends.

    • Generate and communicate timely Price Lists and Pricing Reports to both Internal and external customers.

    • Provide daily input on costing and/or pricing.

    • Ability to work as an effective team member within the entire organization. Willingness to pitch in and do work that may not be a specific part of the job description for the overall good of the company.

    • Ability to travel, either by car or by commercial plane; including overnight stays, as business dictates. Must, always, possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record (within guidelines set forth in company driving policy). Estimated travel 10%.

    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to support project timelines.

    • provide coverage for other pricing team members, as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Agricultural background preferred

    • SAP ERP proficiency preferred

    • Strong Written and verbal communication skills

    • Excel Proficiency

    • Detail-oriented

    • Ability to work independently; and capable of working under varying degrees of pressure from internal and external customers.

    • Ability to meet daily and monthly deadlines

    • Proven work experience as a Pricing Analyst

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Respectful of other points of view and ability to take constructive criticism

    • Proven ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
