    Job Description

    Under the direction of the Neighborhood Partnership Manager, the Partnerships Coordinator of Feeding San Diego (FSD) is primarily responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations and implementation of FSD Programs, with an emphasis on data and evaluation around the impact of Feeding San Diego’s partners and food donors. In this highly interpersonal role, the Partnerships Coordinator will work with faith-based organizations, nonprofits, and grocery retailers in establishing and maintaining positive relationships. The Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for the efficient coordination of safe food distribution from donor to community partner to the public.

    MAINTAINING PARTNERSHIPS

    • Work closely with agency partners, retail donors, and distribution sites to ensure strategic and effective daily maintenance of food distribution programs
    • Build and maintain regular relationships with local partners; ensuring compliance with all local, state and national food safety and monitoring standards
    • Monitor distribution sites to ensure compliance to food safety, program regulation, and application process
    • Ensure food safety standards are maintained at all stores, agencies, and during donation hand off via effective training and monitoring ride along visits
    • Coordinate pickup logistics for food service locations throughout San Diego County with non-profit partner agencies
    • Communicate distribution expectations with local and regional grocery retail managers
    • Maintain donor and partner agency database including pick-up schedule and key contacts via Feeding America’s web platform
    • Problem solve when issues or concerns arise with either donors and/or partner agencies
    • Facilitate coordination with all other departments involved in ensuring successful service delivery, online ordering, and pick-ups
    • Maintain a strong connection with partners through regular communication including phone calls, emails and site visits

    GROWING PARTNERSHIPS

    • Identify agency partners for improvement resources; including grant opportunities, client-choice transitions and dignified distribution ideas
    • Represent FSD to community groups and the general public through active participation at meetings, and involvement in events throughout the community
    • Initiate in-person connections with community-based organizations that can help FSD connect more food to more people

    AREA OF EXPERTISE

    • Conduct ongoing assessments of agency partners and donors to measure impact and effective practices
      • Conduct surveys for agency partners
      • Evaluate data and participate in the presentation of findings during FSD department meetings
      • in a visually engaging manner
      • Provide Program outcome feedback to FSD team and to community
      • GIS Map to more clearly represent landscape of hunger in San Diego

    Demonstrate a pleasant, professional, and helpful attitude at all times. Evening or weekend work as required. Approximately 50% travel around San Diego County

    EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    • A minimum of 1 year experience working with members of underrepresented groups
    • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience with competing priorities, deadlines, and constant multi-tasking

     

    Preferred:

    • Educational background in field related to Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Social Science, Public Health OR
    • A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience with competing priorities, deadlines, and constant multi-tasking
    • A minimum of 2+ years of work experience in foodservice, grocery, or food distribution organization or professional / volunteer experience in food security, hunger-relief work, or a community-based organization
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish, or English and another Non-English language

     

    Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position.

    • Strong proficiency in Windows 8, Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

    • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and commitment
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service with patient, professional representation in the community
    • All other duties as assigned
