    Job Description

    The Accounts Payable Manager supervises and leads staff members within the accounts payable department at Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

    MINISTERIAL DUTIES

    These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission, and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

    • Agree with, and abide by, FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
    • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord’s will for FCA.
    • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
    • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
    • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs (see FCA’s Christian Community Statement) at all times.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage accounts payable staff including hiring, training, assigning, and directing workflow qof staff.
    • Analyze, resolve, and answer complex or difficult problems presented by staff and vendors.
    • Oversee the accounts payable process to ensure that requests are accurately processed and approved in compliance with policy and procedure.
    • Proactively review the payment processing, including check runs, ACH transfers, and electronic payments for system and procedure improvements.
    • Responsible for ensuring finance practices and data are correct and accurate through various audits procedures as it pertains to accounts payable.
    • Additional items as necessary including but not limited to processing rent, outstanding checks, and B-notices.
    • Maintain knowledge of W-9 forms, recurring payments, taxable fringe benefits, etc.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Ability to understand complex scenarios and dissect the components to identify changes required and the impact of those changes.
    • Knowledge of processing financial transactions in a complex, high-volume environment.
