    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Fenix Group is seeking a Engineering Network Technician who will work alongside engineers and managers assisting with research, evaluation, design, and quality control processes. Conduct diagnostic and problem-solving activities with LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and other network technologies as well as general troubleshooting to resolve network related issues. This candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will require the applicant to possess hands-on experience to assist with aspects of testing and delivery of a 4G/5G cellular network system.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    CLEARANCE:  Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and hold a Secret Clearance

    EDUCATION: Associates degree in Engineering Technology (Electrical or Mechanical). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology

    Equivalent experience can be substituted for educational requirement. 

    EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 5 years of previous experience working for a company within the industry or from a similar business as well as experience integrating and troubleshooting electronics and network systems.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:  N/A

    SKILLS:

    • Work alongside engineers to design, build, and test solutions to a variety of technical problems.
    • Inspect and modify existing designs and prototypes.
    • Build prototypes including fine pitch soldering, wiring harness builds, mechanical housing fabrication/modification.
    • Conduct diagnostic and problem-solving activities with LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and other network technologies
    • Conduct research, collect data, and as necessary write reports.
    • Run tests, diagnostics, and calibrations.
    • Conduct experiments and investigations under the guidance of Engineers.
    • Inspect inventory and assist with ordering materials and technical components.
    • Analyze operations and offer suggestions for improvement.
    • Maintain records and assist with presentations.
    • Familiarity with test equipment Spectrum analyzed, network analyzer, etc.
    • Design and Install computer networks and systems
    • Internet Protocol (IP) networking
    • Network design and optimization
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Ability to clearly articulate technical and non-technical subject matters, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical Customer personnel
    • Prior experience with Government contracting practices and procedures
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • May require participation in field trials that would go beyond normal office environment demands.
    • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    TRAVEL:

    • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
