    JOB OVERVIEW.
    The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in analyzing financial data, trends, and performance to support effective decision-making and strategic planning.

    RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Conducting thorough financial analysis to evaluate the company's performance, identify trends, and assess risks and opportunities.
    • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by analyzing past financial performance and considering future trends.
    • Generating and presenting financial reports to management, highlighting key findings and providing recommendations for improvement.
    • Analyzing and explaining any variances between budgeted and actual financial performance.
    • Collecting, organizing, and maintaining financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Evaluating the financial impact of various business initiatives, helping the company make informed decisions.
    • Developing and maintaining financial models to aid in long-term financial planning and scenario analysis.
    • Staying informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions that may impact the financial performance of the pet insurance company.
    • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements specific to the insurance industry.
    • Working closely with other departments, such as underwriting and claims, to understand their financial needs and provide support.

    REQUIRED SKILLS.

    • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey financial information effectively.
    • Software Proficiency: Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools. Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential. Knowledge of accounting software is a plus. Should be able to work on a case study, if needed.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
    • Work Experience: Full-time or internship experience in finance function preferred.
    • Personality Skills: Willing to learn quickly, highly organized and methodical. Strong execution focus. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
