    The role will be responsible for project-level financial performance and proper contract management on projects varying in size and complexity.  This role interfaces primarily with Electrical Services Project Managers and Account Managers, reporting directly to the Project Accounting Manager. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Review weekly/monthly labor and material job cost activity reports to ensure accurate and timely costing in line with project scope and expected milestones, and proactively communicate budget to actual variances to Project Managers to assist in risk management and change control
    • Provide ad hoc cost accounting support and financial analysis of labor and material mix on current and future projects to drive accurate costing for Project Managers and Estimators
    • Perform lookback analysis on projects to support the estimating function with updated job cost trends while improving the project turnover process
    • Ensure accurate project set up in ERP system in compliance with reviewed and negotiated contract terms and internal policies and procedures
    • Influence and assist in the development of the project schedule of values for proper billing and cash flow
    • Participate in various team meetings, such as project milestones and estimate to complete reviews, and provide analytical insight, support, and accountability for accuracy of financial reporting
    • Process large project AIA pay applications in accordance with billing terms of customer contracts
    • Review and reconcile change order documentation to ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting
    • Support for Project Coordinator team in obtaining and coordinating project documentation, such as insurance certification, prevailing wage labor reports, lien waivers, lien releases, and sworn statements to align with contract documentation requirements, as well as comply with terms specific to document retention
    • Assist with weekly/monthly project and branch unit level forecasting for job cost, revenue, and cash flow through the month-end close process and beyond
    • Support project closeout efforts of a completed contract to ensure proper accounting treatment, as well as assess any related warranty risks and handoff to FZ Services team member
    • Perform ad hoc analysis or complete special projects as requested by Electrical Services Business Unit Directors, Market Leaders and Executive Vice President as well as, the Corporate Controller and/or CFO.

     KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business required, CPA a plus
    • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in accounting or finance-related role required
    • Experience with project-level accounting and financial analysis preferred
    • Knowledge of standard contract terms applied within construction billing a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as an integral member of a business unit team, as well as the finance and accounting team, in a fast-paced environment where priorities could change daily
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Demonstrated professionalism, positive attitude, and customer focus (internal and external)
    • The ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, along with the ability to remain calm and professional under stress
