Feyen Zylstra is looking for an ELECTRICAL FOREMAN for our KALAMAZOO, MI location. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Group Leader. This role is responsible for leading our electrical teams in electrical installations, trouble shooting and maintenance within complex commercial and industrial settings. Our field leaders thrive to complete projects on time,safely and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Oversees a team of 5-50 apprentices and electricians, responsible for safety, quality and job performance.
•Consistently enforces and promotes workplace safety procedures
•Consistently completes projects on time, within budget, and in a safe manner
•Has a history of managing large projects spanning 12-36 months effectively
•Demonstrates ability to complete foreman logs, performance evaluations, purchase order logs, time cards, etc. in a timely manner
•Maintains compliance with company policies; consults with project management, leadership and safety and HR staff to ensure consistent corrective measures aretaken and documentation completed
•Effectively manages tools, equipment, and people resources
•Coaches and mentors journeyman and apprentices on performance, safety and quality
•Establish expectations and motivates crews to consistently meet or beat goals
•Coordinates with purchasing, logistics and Virtual Design & Constructionto ensure projects run smoothly
•Demonstrates ability to obtain, organize, and manage materials effectively anddevelop “as built” documentation
•Demonstrates excellent customer relations through utilization of effectiveproblem-solving techniques
•Forecasts job costs (labor, material, rental equipment) accurately
•Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma or GED
•5 or more years of experience as an commercial/industrial electrician
•Prior experience with commercial and industrial electrical projects
•Strong knowledge of the most recent National Electrical Code
•Strong passion for safety, quality, employee coaching and commitment to excellence
•Skilled at interfacing with general contractors and end user customers
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and comfort with laptop and tablet technology
•Skilled at reading and following blueprints and electrical schematics
•Mechanical/technical aptitude and a passion for teaching others in this area
•Strong ability to lead others, including directing work and coaching for improvement
•Operates with honesty and integrity and remains professional under stress
•Self-driven, reliable and able to work independently even under pressure
•Solid planning, organizing, time management, communication and problem solving skills
•Strong team work and collaboration with peers and leaders
•Ability to travel regionally to project sites, work overtime and in variedweather conditions required
•Ability to work at elevated heights, and to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
