Reporting to the President/CEO of a growing community bank with a down
to earth culture and 130 employees, the EVP/Chief Credit Officer will
oversee and direct the Bank’s overall commercial credit and lending
strategy, covering both SBA and conventional commercial lending. This
role will develop credit risk and management policies and procedures,
supervise the credit underwriting and administration functions, and
implement risk management strategies to ensure the maintenance of a high
quality commercial portfolio.

Performance Objectives:
- Collaborate with the bank’s SBA and commercial lenders across 6
states to evaluate, approve or decline, process, and service SBA and
commercial loans across the bank’s footprint.
- Approve loans up to $500,000 and collaborate with key executive team
members to co-approve loans up to $3 million in aggregate exposure.
- Chair both the Executive Loan Committee and the Board of Directors
Loan Committee.
- Oversee and direct the staff assigned to the Commercial Credit and
Administration Departments with respect to credit underwriting and
administration, processing, closing, and servicing of all new and
existing Commercial Loans.
- Play a vital role on the executive team in developing short and
long-term strategies regarding Commercial Lending goals
and objectives.
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations,
industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable
laws regarding all aspects of Commercial Lending.
- Participate on the Bank’ s ALCO Committee.
- Prepare budget, manage expenditures, and report any budget variances
on an annual basis.
- Perform personnel actions including performance appraisals,
disciplinary actions and interviewing candidates for employment;
supervise the daily activities of the department including, but not
limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work
schedule and providing necessary training.
Background Profile:
- 10 to 15+ years of commercial lending and credit management
experience, with at least 3 to 5+ years approving commercial credit.
- Exposure to both SBA and conventional commercial lending.
- Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working
relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
- Continuous on-the-job training with respect to policies, procedures
and various regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, communication, teamwork,
and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Formal credit training is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree.
