Job Description

his is a field technician position. As a field technician, you will be responsible for expanding our fiber-optic network by designing, building, and operating the network out in the field. You will have a direct hand in bringing our premium Internet service to more and more customers, with opportunities to specialize.

• getting (and creating) tons of hands-on experience and training
• placing new Outside Plant Infrastructure (hardware, fiber cables)
• fiber optic splicing
• connecting new customer homes to the Internet
• gathering field data and designing new locations
• learning and contributing to multiple aspects of the Internet business
• troubleshooting and repairing outages

Qualifications

• Technically inclined with a desire to learn
• Troubleshooting and Networking skills
• Experience in handling cabling tasks
• Proficiency in configuring routers
• Strong customer service skills
• Know that the role will involve a lot of time outdoors in the field. We are expanding rapidly!
• Must be comfortable working at heights with ladders or bucket truck (training will be provided)
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Knowledge of fiber optic technology is a plus
• Construction experience is a plus
