    Fiber Optic Puller – Entry-Level (Manual Labor)

    Locations: Albuquerque, New Mexico & Las Cruces, New Mexico

    Summary

    We’re looking for dependable Fiber Optic Pullers to support our construction teams in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. This is a strictly hands‑on, physical labor position. You will be pulling fiber cable through pre‑installed conduit based on simple directions and basic map reading.

    There is no splicing, no testing, no troubleshooting, and no technical fiber work in this role. It is a field labor position that supports the fiber installation process.

    This is an in‑house 1099 contractor position. Workers are engaged as independent contractors and support our fiber installation teams directly.

    What You’ll Do

    Read simple maps and follow clear instructions

    Pull various fiber optic size cables (24-288 count) through pre-installed conduit

    Leave proper fiber slack in handholes for splicing crews

    Perform daily manual labor including lifting, pulling, bending, and working outdoors

    Assist with basic site preparation and cleanup

    Maintain a safe work environment and follow direction from supervisors

    This job requires consistent physical labor in various weather conditions.

    What You Need

    Reliability and a strong work ethic

    Ability to perform physical labor for full shifts

    Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

    Comfortable working outdoors

    Possesses a valid driver’s license and operates a vehicle equipped for towing

    No prior fiber experience is required.

    Safety Expectations

    Follow all safety rules and use required PPE

    Attend safety meetings and report hazards immediately

    Keep tools and equipment stored properly

    The most you will do regarding traffic control is call an admin for a Traffic Control team to cone off your work area.

    Assistance is provided with basic traffic awareness when needed (no flagging or directing traffic)
