    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in various environments.
    • Test and troubleshoot fiber optic systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including splicing diagrams and test results.
    • Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to plan and execute fiber optic installation projects.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working on-site and handling equipment.
    • Conduct regular maintenance and repair on existing fiber optic networks as needed.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in fiber optic technology.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong understanding of optical networks and fiber optic components.
    • Proficient in using fiber optic test equipment, such as OTDR and power meters.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and diagrams.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in telecommunications preferred.
    • Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and installation in a telecommunications environment.
