    S&W Ready Mix, a Titan America Company, has an immediate career opportunity for a Human Resources Manager. This salary exempt position is based in Clinton, NC or Castle Hayne, NC and will report to the VP of Mid Atlantic Ready-Mix Operations and functionally to the Mid- Atlantic Human Resources Director. This position provides strategic Human Resources support for ready mix concrete manufacturing and delivery operations, which includes professional CDL Drivers, Maintenance, Operations, Sales and Management in the Carolinas. 

     

    This position serves as a key role on the S&W Leadership team. As a member of the leadership team, this person will lean on their experience and best practices to validate existing processes and build new processes to achieve success. He or she will be responsible for assisting with building a high-performance culture, helping to set strategic plans, providing employee relations council and meeting HR related project deadlines. The HR manager is readily available to assist frontline supervisors and/or managers in finding solutions within a complex and challenging environment. The ideal skill mix with this position is a generalist who has a comprehensive understanding in HR and understands the business they support.

     

    • HR PLANNING & STRATEGY – Build High Performance Culture founded in the Titan Leadership Platform while supporting S&W’s strategic plan. Partner with business leaders to develop effective organizational structure that includes clear roles and responsibilities, objectives and accountabilities, flexible bench strengths and vigorous training programs. Utilize metrics, audits, analysis, reporting, and planning tools to monitor the effectiveness of HR programs. Develop HR strategies, recommend initiatives, and lead projects to support the ongoing needs of the business.
    • CHANGE MANAGEMENT – Build productive relationships at all levels of the organization. Lead change management efforts extending to multiple plant locations by fostering an atmosphere for change and creating an environment embracing diversity. Function as the employee liaison to provide feedback to the leadership team, and actively seek opportunity to improve communications and increase employee engagement.
    • COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT – Keep abreast of employment law changes and recommend changes to ensure all human resources policies and programs are in compliance. Audit and update workplace for compliance with Immigration, FLSA, DOL, EEO, DOT, OSHA and Affirmative Action requirements. Provide interpretation and guidance to supervisors and managers when needed.
    • DOT COMPLIANCE – Keep up to date with Federal Motor Carrier Standards Act regulations to ensure DOT related regulatory programs remain compliant. This includes but is not limited to driver work hour regulations, drug test programs, pre-employment screens, DOT Physicals and driver files.
    • TALENT MANAGEMENT & ONBOARDING – Assess the current organization and identify training and development opportunities. Develop and deliver training designed to meet organizational objectives and strategic plan. Establish employee onboarding programs that facilitate new hire success and full leverage talent and resources. Monitor operational policies and procedures for hiring; discipline and termination; exit interviews; measure performance and determine appropriate compensation. Oversee payroll and benefits administration.
    • RECRUITING PROGRAM MANAGEMENT – Manage the full cycle recruiting process. Design the process to ensure recruiting programs meet staffing needs by partnering closely with other business leaders to attract and hire the highest quality candidates possible. Manage and create external recruiting partnerships and internal recruiting programs to ensure sustainability and effectiveness of the recruiting programs.  
    • EMPLOYEE RELATIONS & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT – Manage and improve the Company’s performance management process. Provide advice and counsel to both managers and employees to solve employee relations problems and assist with coaching and discipline needs. Conduct stay and exit interviews as needed and recommend solutions that promote positive employee relations. Design and implement programs to improve key areas of the Employee Engagement Survey.
    • COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT – Partner with S&W Management and corporate Titan America partners to identify relevant and critical information to ensure the S&W workforce is kept informed. Ensure both written and verbal communication programs and platforms are healthy to foster a culture of engagement and transparency. Create and sustain programs that enhance S&W’s high-performance culture and teamwork.

     

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of human resources principles and practices to include recruitment, benefits, compensation, labor relations, training and development, policy development and regulatory compliance.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, intermediate computer skills; intermediate project management skills.
    • Effective analytical skills to examine cost structures and resolve complex issues.
    • Self-starter with high energy and proven record of instituting continuous improvement.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development or related field required, with a master’s degree preferred;
    • Minimum 7 years of HR generalist experience required.
    • DOT Regulatory experience preferred
    • Safety program including knowledge of OSHA and Worker’s Compensation experience preferred.
    • Labor relations experience preferred.
    • SPHR or PHR Certification preferred.
