    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Vice President, Rod lift is expected to develop and execute strategy to grow the Rod Lift. This is a key strategic leadership role and will require a self-starting individual with passion and tenacity to drive growth initiatives in a competitive market. This position is located in Crowley, Texas

    This integral member of the executive leadership team will report to the Production and Automation Technology Segment President.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP:

    • Lead a Global Organization with a combined revenue of more than $2750M and execute on the strategic plans for continued growth
    • In conjunction with the President and PAT Leadership Team, advance & refine a strategic plan that aligns people, technology, marketing and commercial capability to achieve growth and innovation for Rod Lift, leading brands include Harbison Fisher, Norris Rods and Alberta Oil Tools.
    • Provide vision to ensure high quality earnings and consistent growth and execution of technical strategies for all Rod Lift Product Lines.
    • Deliver Outcomes through clear direction, collaboration, and influence. Ensures issues can be openly discussed, options investigated and positive conclusions achieved.
    • Foster an environment where innovation, entrepreneurship and courage are valued and encouraged.
    • Be seen as a strong collaborative leader, ensure cohesion and common purpose in a dynamic environment.

    STRATEGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    • Create 3 to 5 year strategic plans for long term growth and operationalize plans through planning, creating budgets and constantly act to improve the commercial and financial and long term performance of the business.
    • Create detailed business proposals on potential commercial opportunities, defining market size, product differentiation, competition assessment, and overall risk assessment.
    • Identify potential strategic partnerships or M&A opportunities that will enhance the Rod Lift presence in the market place.

    GENERAL MANAGEMENT

    • Provide leadership to a diverse team consisting of product marketing, engineering, logistics, supply chain management and key suppliers responsible for several modification/improvement programs.
    • Creates annual operating plans that support strategic direction set by corporate and submits annual plans for approval; works with leadership to define the organization’s vision and strategies to achieve that vision; develops and monitors strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the organization.
    • Always maintain safety as a first priority when working across all areas of the business.
    • Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance and new product development.
    • Insure world class quality in our global manufacturing and materials departments to review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing and facility problems to ensure minimum costs, high productivity and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth.
    • In conjunction with Human Resources, oversee the development of employees to ensure the company can meet its current and future needs.
    • Uphold exemplary business principles in accordance with Apergy trade compliance policies.
    • Ensure all matters brought before the Segment President are appropriate and objectively evaluated.
    • Maintain the highest standards of controls, ensuring that all commercial activity is carried out ethically and in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
    • Oversee all areas of business risk and ensure strategies exist to mitigate these as much as possible.

    TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP

    • Ensure New Product development and programs meet and exceed business goals and align to the long term vision
    • Build on the established technology roadmap to enhance and differentiate our products and Apergy’s market presence.
    • Maintain the highest standards of controls, ensuring that all commercial activity is carried out ethically and in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
    • Oversee all areas of business risk and ensure strategies exist to mitigate these as much as possible.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field, MBA is preferred
    • 15 years of leadership experience, including successful managing a global P&L in the oil and gas industry
    • Proven track record to growing a business with profitable, organic initiatives that leverage a company’s core technology, cost and competitive advantages.
    • Strong business acumen and an in-depth understanding of the marketing and financial implications of new opportunities.
    • Great team builder with a passion for hiring, developing and promoting people into bigger roles.
    • Experience working within a matrixed operating environment
    • Excellent broad-based business leader who can collaborate effectively with peers and executive functional and senior business line leaders.
    • Broad experience within an oilfield services provider.
    • A strong understanding of oil and gas industry products, services and applications. Specific background in Artificial Lift.
    • International experience preferred – has demonstrable success in differing cultures.
    • Able travel to 50% of the time.
    • Demonstrated change management success.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Computer skills – Oracle/EBS- JDE
    • Knowledge of manufacturing operations
    • Knowledge of fundamental Safety principles for an industrial work environment
    • Must have experience with process improvement
    • Skilled in the operation of manufacturing equipment for designated area
    • Some lean manufacturing knowledge & implementation
    • Knowledge of ISO 14001/9001 required
