    POSITION PROFILE

     

    The Vice President Health & Safety is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Knoll Inc. Health and Safety programs and to build and develop a high performing team of EHS professionals.  The Vice President Health and Safety will ensure that the Company meets its Health & Safety legal obligations and will work closely with the Senior Vice President Operations to set Company and Department objectives. This role will also support Knoll’s leadership position in Sustainability.  The Vice President Health & Safety will develop a plan with specific actions to achieve these objectives. 

    • Working with all Knoll Functional departments, lead the company’s commitment and adherence to the Knoll EHS Management System
    • Ensure that the Company is fully compliant with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations pertaining to Environmental, Health, and Safety. 
    • Oversee a robust assessment / audit process to demonstrate compliance with all laws and regulations as well as the Knoll EHS Management System.
    • Ensure that all reported accidents, incidents, near misses, violations are investigated, and that proper preventative corrective actions are implemented
    • Develop strategies and programs to achieve a world class Safety culture focused on hazard identification and risk reduction.
    • Manage the Workers Compensation claim process and the Workers Compensation budget. Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley policies
    • Work with the Site EHS Leaders to support compliance and certification to the ISO 14001 standards.
    • Fully support the company’s effort to develop strategies to maintain and enhance the Knoll Inc’s market leading sustainability position
    • Working with Senior Director of Business Risk Management, design programs that ensure that Knoll Inc. facilities and Supply Chain are adequately protected and that proper Business contingency plans are developed
    • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives

    Required Skills

    • Minimum 10-15 years of working experience in Safety, and Health with at least 3 years of Sustainable practices
    • Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Requires public speaking experience
    • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point
    • Familiar with Building and Product Certification Programs
    • Regulatory knowledge in OSHA for both Canada and US jurisdictions
    • Familiar with Industry testing protocols such as indoor air testing and product criteria rules

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering or related Sciences; Biology or Chemistry, and/or Health and Safety. MBA will be a plus.
