    About the Role

    RadioMobile is seeking a Field Communications Hardware Installation Technician to join our growing team. This role supports our mission to deliver and maintain cutting-edge communication systems for public safety and related agencies. You’ll work hands-on installing our custom-built hardware and software systems in emergency vehicles such as fire engines and battalion trucks.

    Key Responsibilities

    Vehicle Installations:

    Install mobile data computers, displays, and mounting hardware (RAM, Gamber Johnson, etc.)

    Set up mobile routers and antennas (Sierra Wireless, CradlePoint, ViaSat)

    Route and secure communication and power wiring throughout vehicles

    Configure and troubleshoot installed systems

    Apply automotive knowledge to ensure safe and efficient integration with vehicle systems

    Utilize auto sound system experience to install and optimize audio components and wiring

    Production Support:

    Assist in testing and quality assurance of RadioMobile’s hardware products

    Support assembly of mobile data computers, displays, switches, and accessories

    Requirements

    Valid California Driver’s License

    Ability and willingness to fly for work-related travel

    Must be able to pass a background check

    Willingness to travel across the Western U.S., especially California

    Experience using hand and power tools (drills, rotary tools, etc.)

    Familiarity with vehicle cabling, connectors, and cable dressing

    Soldering and electrical tool experience (wire strippers, crimpers, RJ-45, etc.)

    Automotive systems knowledge, especially related to electrical and audio components

    Experience installing auto sound systems or similar vehicle electronics

    Basic computer skills and ability to learn customer software

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred Skills

    Automotive systems knowledge, especially related to electrical and audio components

    Experience installing auto sound systems or similar vehicle electronics

    Assembly line or manufacturing experience

    Mechanical and fabrication knowledge

    Forklift operation (a plus)

    Experience with 12V systems and vehicle diagnostics

    Familiarity with CAN bus systems and vehicle wiring schematics

    Strong attention to detail and quality

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in fast-paced environments
