    We are seeking a motivated Field Engineer with a background in civil engineering and hands-on experience in earthworks or site demolition. This role supports the successful execution of site preparation activities by ensuring work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. The Field Engineer will collaborate closely with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced field environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage and implement construction methodologies and best practices in collaboration with the superintendent and project team

    Oversee planning and execution of earthworks, grading, excavation, and demolition activities

    Interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports

    Coordinate with surveyor to ensure accurate site layout and grade verification

    Conduct field inspections and document progress through daily reports, photos, and logs to ensure compliance with design, schedule, and quality standards

    Track quantities (cut/fill, haul volumes, demolition debris) and support cost control efforts

    Coordinate with subcontractors, equipment operators, and suppliers to maintain workflow

    Conduct quality control checks, such as soil compaction tests or grade verification, to meet engineering standards

    Identify and help resolve technical issues, including soil conditions, drainage, and site constraints

    Support implementation and enforcement of safety policies and environmental regulations

    Assist with RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentation

    Coordinate and monitor heavy equipment use

    Support site mobilization and demobilization, ensuring proper documentation and client handover

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required

    Minimum 1–3 years of experience in earthworks, grading, excavation, or site demolition

    Good understanding of geotechnical principles and heavy construction methods

    Familiarity with construction layout, surveying tools, and grade control systems

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

    Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software (e.g. Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD Civil 3D) is a plus

    Willingness to work outdoors in varying site conditions

    Preferred Qualifications:

    OSHA 10 or 30 certification

    EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or progress toward licensure

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to walk uneven terrain, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs

    Comfortable working in active construction and demolition environments
