We are seeking a Field Engineer to join the team in New York. This role offers hands-on exposure to complex civil construction projects, supporting field operations, coordination, and documentation while building a strong foundation for advancement into project engineering and management.
What You'll Do as the Field Engineer:
- Support field operations including layout, coordination, and daily work planning
- Prepare and help implement construction work plans and safety documentation
- Review drawings, RFIs, and shop drawings to identify issues and ensure constructability
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure alignment with project plans and specifications
- Track quantities, production, and progress to support schedule and reporting needs
- Maintain daily reports, inspection logs, and as-built documentation
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, and field change tracking
- Participate in inspections and help uphold quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with project teams, inspectors, and external stakeholders including local agencies
- Support project closeout activities including punch lists and final documentation
Must-Haves as the Field Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of civil construction experience or relevant internships
- Experience with site or civil construction such as earthwork, utilities, concrete, or paving
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced field environment
Nice-to-Haves as the Field Engineer:
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or field layout tools
- Familiarity with surveying equipment and layout processes
- Background in transportation or infrastructure projects such as transit, rail, or airports
- Exposure to public agency projects or regulatory environments
- Understanding of inspection and testing requirements for civil construction
