Position Overview
FMGI Inc is seeking a dependable and versatile Field Maintenance Technician with 1–3 years of construction experience. This role involves traveling to project sites to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. Candidates should be flexible, hands-on, and comfortable working varied hours, including nights and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Based on experience
- Overtime: Time-and-a-half for hours worked beyond 40/week

Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work across commercial sites
- Complete carpentry tasks including finish work, framing, and sheetrock
- Conduct painting work (breakrooms, trims, drywall finishing)
- Execute door repairs including locksets, closures, and frames
- Perform basic concrete repairs, including patching holes and cracks (e.g., retail garden centers and curbs)
- Assist with minor welding repairs (Flux Core, Wire, Stick) as needed
- Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders on-site
- Maintain a high level of workmanship, safety, and professionalism
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of construction or maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, and general repairs
- Welding experience is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High level of dependability and flexibility
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Travel Requirements
- Travel throughout Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi
- Typical trips range from 1–2 days, with occasional projects lasting up to 2 weeks
