About This Role
HomeSmiles Durham NC is launching locally in March, and this role represents our first field hire. We are looking for a reliable, capable Field Maintenance Technician who wants hands-on work today and the opportunity to grow with us as we scale.
HomeSmiles provides professional, preventative home maintenance services. We handle the routine but important work that helps homeowners protect their investment and avoid costly repairs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work, takes pride in doing things the right way, and wants to be part of building something from the ground up.
While initial work will be part-time, we expect to grow quickly. The right person will have opportunities for more consistent work, increased responsibility, and leadership as the business expands.
Pay, Bonuses & Career Growth
This is our first field hire, and we are building with growth in mind. While the role starts part-time, the goal is to grow into a full, scalable operation with real upside for the right person.
$20–$30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
Opportunity to earn additional compensation by identifying additional services homeowners request (such as window washing or gutter guard installs)

What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on the job, responsibilities may include:
Performing home maintenance tasks such as:
HVAC filter changes
Dryer vent cleaning
Gutter and downspout clearing
Basic exterior and interior maintenance tasks
Light, non-licensed repairs within scope
Meeting homeowners or property managers to confirm service details
Completing work efficiently and professionally in occupied homes
Documenting completed work with photos or brief notes when requested
Communicating issues, scope questions, or unusual conditions
This is a non-construction, non-licensed repair role. You will not be asked to perform plumbing, electrical, roofing, or general contractor services.
