Summary
The Field Representative is to assist the Site Manager in performing on-site management for ongoing troubleshooting, warranty projects, and after-sales operations for the CTA7000 Railcars at various maintenance locations. This person will coordinate between CRRC Sifang America and the Chicago Transit Authority ("CTA") for rapid troubleshooting, warranty resolution, and fieldwork to ensure the railcars function correctly and safely. The Field Representative will also be responsible for supporting warranty claims management, inventory tracking, and reverse logistics processes to improve operational efficiency. Communicating with various departments within CRRC, with multiple suppliers, and with the customer is necessary to complete job duties. This person is expected to become familiar with limited technical functions such as downloading logs and using test units, computers, and hand tools in support of on-site engineers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Excellent communication skills/abilities with the CTA, CRRC internal departments, suppliers, and support teams
Arranging After-Sales and supplier personnel to perform field service functions at the end customer’s designated locations
On-site personnel management
On-site safety management
Preparation of work schedule and work reports
Engaging in communication with internal departments and transit agency personnel, as warranted to appropriately complete daily work
Tracking and reporting discovered issues and the progress of the resolution to Management
Coordinating and supporting the end customer/client on in-process inspections and final functional inspections before delivery
Understanding and following company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures
Traveling among all the CTA terminals to perform the work, as necessary and assigned
Able to work irregular hours if needed
Supporting the initiation, submission, and follow-up of warranty claims in collaboration with engineering and quality departments
Assisting in tracking and maintaining on-site inventory of replacement parts and equipment needed for warranty repairs and troubleshooting
Overseeing reverse logistics activities, including the receiving, return, repair, or disposal of defective or replaced components in accordance with warranty and company policies
Assisting in the coordination of logistics and documentation related to returned material authorizations (RMAs), shipping, and restocking
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Required
Minimum of 2-year college degree in relevant discipline/study or equivalent work experiences in a relevant field
Understanding and experience working with mechanical, electrical, or similar project teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong self-drive and learning capability
Preferred
4-year college degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, management, or a related field
Hands-on experience with the use of testing and measuring instruments such as reading different meters, sensors, oscilloscopes, etc.
Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, etc.
Candidate with After-Sales experience and/or After-Sales warranty training
Experience with warranty claims processing and return logistics coordination
Familiarity with inventory management systems and spare parts control
Relevant work experience in railroad and/or transportation industry

Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000/annually
