About the Role
Gastronomous is seeking a Field Robotics Specialist to play a critical role in deploying, supporting, and optimizing our autonomous cooking systems across Southern California. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting our in-field units — ensuring exceptional performance and reliability for our customers.
This position represents a rare ground-floor opportunity. As one of our first full-time US-based team members you will help build the foundation of our field operations — shaping service processes, supporting new deployments, and serving as a key technical partner to both customers and internal teams.
As we enter this rapid growth phase, this role offers increasing ownership and leadership responsibilities — helping to scale the local service team and define how Gastronomous supports its customers in one of our most important markets. ** __** ** __**
What You'll Do:
****Deployment & Installation
- ____Deploy, install, and calibrate Gastronomous equipment in new customer locations
- Support pilot deployments and new customer launches to ensure successful product rollouts
- Assist with product demonstrations and technical walkthroughs for prospective customers
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- __Monitor in-field units and respond promptly to issues; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and electrical problems
- Perform routine preventative maintenance including inspection, cleaning, and wear component replacement
- Respond to service calls within guidelines that exceed customer expectations
Customer & Technical Support
- __Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance
- Provide remote and on-site technical support via phone and remote access tools
Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- __Maintain accurate records of all service activities, repairs, replacements, and installations
- Contribute to internal service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and spare parts strategy in collaboration with engineering and product teams
- Track and manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
- Share field insights and performance feedback to drive product reliability and serviceability improvements
- Support recruiting initiatives including technician hiring events and onboarding for new team members
- Participate in industry events and customer visits to support sales and product awareness
Skills & Qualifications
- **__**Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field
- Experience reading and interpreting functional, electrical, and mechanical diagrams
- Strong communication skills — written and verbal — with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Highly organized and self-directed; able to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently
- Collaborative team player with experience working across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for robotics and automation
- Valid California driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (preferred)
- Ability to travel ~40% of the time within California
- Flexible availability to respond to urgent field issues when needed
- Spanish-speaking preferred
