Field Safety Representative – Steel Industry

Gardner Watson Decking, Inc., is a full-service metal decking installation company headquartered in Oldsmar, FL.

Qualifications of Safety Representative:

· Must have field construction safety experience

· Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License with clean driving record

· Must have OSHA 30 Certification (Add’l Certs a plus. Ex.: CPR/First Aid and MEWP)

· Must be able to travel 100% nationwide

· Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

· Bi-lingual English/Spanish Preferred

Responsibilities of Safety Representative:

· Promote a strong safety culture throughout the company maintaining the company’s core priorities: Safe, Precise, and On Time.

· Perform safety inspections and audits

· Perform training and orientation of field personnel

· Identify and report potential safety hazards and recommendations for eliminating/reducing to Safety Director

· Act as On-Site Safety Manager at specific projects for extended periods of time

· Perform accident/injury investigations and assist in root cause analysis

· Assist deck installation crews in performing safety tasks

· Work with the Safety Director, Project Managers and Foremen daily to assist in and carry out the responsibilities of the safety department

· Regular and consistent attendance is expected

· Other safety and company duties as assigned

Physical Requirements of Safety Representative:

· Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, kneel, crouch

· Work at heights greater than 40'

· Work in Outdoor weather conditions (heat and cold)
