    Power Generation & Distribution Services (PGDS) is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to perform advanced industrial electrical testing, protective relay development, and power system commissioning projects nationwide.

    This role represents the transition from senior field technician to engineering-level authority and requires strong troubleshooting ability, protection system knowledge, and independent field execution.

    What You’ll Do

    Lead and perform circuit breaker testing and inspections (LV/MV)

    Develop and modify protective relay settings

    Perform secondary injection testing and relay verification

    Troubleshoot protection schemes and control systems

    Support generator startup, synchronization, and commissioning

    Assist with VFD configuration and PLC field verification

    Interpret electrical one-line and three-line diagrams

    Communicate technical findings with client engineers and project managers

    What We’re Looking For

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered

    5+ years electrical, industrial, or field service experience

    Experience performing relay testing and protection troubleshooting

    Strong understanding of power distribution systems

    Comfortable using relay software, test equipment platforms, and digital reporting tools

    Willing and able to travel 95% domestically

    Licensing

    Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

    Journeyman or Master Electrician license considered equivalent field qualification

    Pursuit of PE licensure is viewed positively

    Required Certifications

    (Must be obtained within first 30 days if not already held)

    OSHA 30

    NFPA 70E

    CPR / AED

    Lockout / Tagout training

    Work Environment

    95% Domestic Travel

    Industrial and substation environments
