Technical Source is seeking a Technical Service Engineer for our automated equipment manufacturing client in Buffalo, NY. Our client is a global leader in the development and production of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, tea, and coffee products. The Role
We are looking for a skilled Technical Service Engineer to support capital equipment operations, coordinate vendor services, manage SAP projects, assist with equipment upgrades, and provide technical expertise to internal teams and global Customer Service operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support outsourced repairs and services of capital equipment.
Provide technical expertise and maintain relationships with vendors.
Act as internal coordinator for Customer Service programs, rebuilds, and refurbishments.
Assist Strategic Account Managers with equipment knowledge, service offerings, and material selection.
Manage CS projects in SAP, including parts processing, BOM creation, and project documentation.
Coordinate expedited vendor services and materials for urgent requests.
Support global Customer Service teams with technical guidance.
Assist Business Development with technical input as needed.
Conduct or assist with departmental audits.
Monitor and implement new technologies and vendor updates.
Lead or support capital equipment upgrades and projects.
Handle warranty processing with vendors.
Promote and adhere to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and self-direction.
Ability to prepare detailed and accurate quotes for capital equipment.
Availability to travel nationally and internationally (up to 15%).
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of freeze dryer upgrades.
Understanding of refrigeration, hydraulics, and vacuum systems.
Knowledge of electrical systems, distribution, automation, and controls.
Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
