    Wright Technical Services is proud to support a Fortune 500 client in the automation sector who is seeking Regional Field Service Technicians to join their expanding team. These roles will be instrumental in providing exceptional field service and support, including troubleshooting, repair, installation, maintenance, and training on industrial automation equipment.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Deliver expert technical support while troubleshooting and solving complex issues related to automation equipment.
    • Provide consistent, positive, and exceptional customer service experiences.
    • Work independently or collaboratively within a team to achieve set goals.
    • Conduct industrial troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, HMI, robotic programming, networks, and Fieldbus systems.
    • Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and budgets, ensuring successful project completion.
    • Travel as needed for installations, start-ups, and field support to ensure project success, covering all aspects such as rigging, alignment, wiring, and startup procedures.
    • Complete all work-related documentation promptly and accurately.
    • Identify potential future business opportunities while on-site with customers, and assist in supporting ongoing company strategies.

     

    Background

     

    • Preferred experience in machine programming (PLC/HMI).
    • Knowledge and experience in safety systems, network, and Fieldbus programming and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with robotic processes is a plus.
    • Prior experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication system troubleshooting is preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience with the in-field installation and start-up of intermediate to advanced manufacturing equipment.
    • Understanding of system preventative maintenance practices for intermediate to advanced level equipment; ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints.
    • Robot programming experience, particularly with Fanuc and ABB systems, is advantageous.
    • Proven ability to successfully complete start-up and debug processes on basic to intermediate level systems.
    • Intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills with a track record of positive customer feedback.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    • Minimum requirement: High school diploma or GED (technical or vocational school is preferred).
    • Preferred: Associate's degree in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or robotics.
    • A minimum of 4 years of electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred, along with at least 5 years of field service experience.
