Field Service Technician - (Road Warrior - East Coast)

Direct Hire | Buffalo, NY | $30 - $40/hour plus per diem

We’re looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician who thrives on the road, solving tough technical challenges, and supporting customers face-to-face. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys extensive travel during the week (75%+), with weekends home to recharge. You can live in any state near a major airport and serve the East Coast area.

Field Service Job Description:

• Travel to customer sites across the East Coast to service, troubleshoot, and upgrade industrial automation and packaging equipment.
• Work directly with PLCs (Allen Bradley or similar) and robotic arms (FANUC or equivalent) to keep systems running at peak performance.
• Provide on-site training, advice, and recommendations to improve up-time and productivity.
• Perform audits, retrofits, and safety checks to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Support customers with both technical expertise and great communication skills.
• Log reports, manage expenses, and stay in close touch with the service team while on the road.

Field Service Qualifications:

• Strong background in controls, PLCs, robotics, and electromechanical systems.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret schematics and perform PLC troubleshooting (upload/download).
• Valid U.S. passport and driver’s license; able to travel extensively.
• Degree in automation, electrical, or mechanical technology (or equivalent experience).
• Comfortable with long days and adapting to changing travel schedules.
