Field Service Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machines and related electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems. This hands-on role is ideal for a technically driven professional with strong experience supporting advanced machine tool equipment in customer-facing environments. The Field Service Technician will perform diagnostics, machine alignments, acceptance testing, and customer training while ensuring optimal equipment performance and customer satisfaction. This position requires extensive travel and the ability to operate independently in dynamic industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Interpret and troubleshoot electrical and fluid schematics for CNC machinery and related systems
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and servo-activated systems
• Perform geometrical leveling and alignment of CNC machines
• Troubleshoot and repair spindle units, gearboxes, and additional mechanical machine components
• Conduct mechanical troubleshooting for closed-loop and open-loop axis control systems
• Perform CNC geometry and positioning axis compensation
• Configure and troubleshoot 5-axis Traori setups
• Troubleshoot and configure automatic tool changers and tool management systems
• Utilize positioning, straightness, and geometry measuring lasers for machine calibration
• Perform customer acceptance testing and equipment validation
• Deliver maintenance and operational training to customers
• Train and mentor junior service engineers and technicians
• Provide technical feedback to management regarding customer satisfaction, equipment performance, and product improvement opportunities
• Maintain detailed service documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams and customers
• Travel domestically and internationally to customer locations as required
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the machine tool or CNC field service industry
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex CNC systems and industrial machinery
• Ability to read engineering blueprints, electrical schematics, and fluid diagrams
• Experience using hand tools, precision measurement equipment, and diagnostic software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to demanding customer environments
• Comfortable traveling internationally and supporting remote customer locations
• Proficient with personal computers and various software applications
• Ability to work flexible hours based on project and customer requirements

• Rockford, IL
• Travel up to 85% domestically and internationally
• Ability to support customer sites in industrial and manufacturing environments
Compensation & Benefits
• Pay Range: $24.00 – $43.00 per hour
