Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining ultra-high-pressure (UHP) water blasting equipment, including robotic-assisted systems, to perform precision surface preparation and material cleaning. This role ensures effective surface preparation, coating removal while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The position requires frequent travel and the ability to work offshore for extended periods, often in physically demanding environments.
Essential Functions:
Operate and monitor water blasting equipment, both manually and via robotic systems.
Set up, calibrate, and operate robotic ultra-high-pressure (UHP) water jetting systems for precision blasting tasks.
Safely control robotic units capable of producing pressures in excess of 30,000 psi
Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance on all ISP equipment.
Program and adjust robotic systems to accommodate different materials, surfaces, or project specifications.
Interpret and follow work scopes and safety procedure as directed by the project manager.
Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues in both manual and automated equipment.
Ensure strict compliance with lockout/tagout, PPE, and operational safety standards.
Effectively communicate with ISP team, associated contractors, and clients.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in mechanics, robotics, or industrial systems preferred
Active TWIC card
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems
Above-average problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting equipment and operational challenges
Experience operating or maintaining high-pressure or ultra-high-pressure (UHP) water blasting systems preferred
