    Pay Range: $26.00–$35.00/hr (based on experience) with sign-on bonus

    Schedule: Full-time | Weekly Pay

    Travel: Local travel to customer sites (paid mileage/time); occasional overnight may be required

    Overview:

    • We’re seeking a skilled Field TIG Welder to support food-grade customers with on-site welding, fabrication, and repair work. This role is critical to keeping customer equipment and systems operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong TIG capability on stainless/food-grade materials, can read prints, works independently in the field, and delivers excellent customer service under deadline-driven conditions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    On-Site Welding, Fabrication & Repair

    • Perform TIG welding on food-grade metals (primarily stainless steel), including repairs, modifications, and fabrication.
    • Support installation, retrofit, and repair of equipment and components per customer specifications.
    • Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and repair as needed (brackets, supports, guards, piping/tubing, structural components).
    • Complete preventive maintenance-related welding repairs to minimize downtime.

    Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

    • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to plan and execute work.
    • Diagnose issues and determine best repair approach while maintaining sanitary/food-grade standards.

    Customer Interaction & Service

    • Act as the on-site point of contact during service visits; maintain a professional, customer-first approach.
    • Clearly communicate findings, repair plans, and recommendations to customers and internal teams.
    • Build strong relationships through timely, clean, and high-quality workmanship.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Follow all safety policies and site rules, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
    • Conduct pre-task risk assessments and maintain a safe work area.
    • Report hazards, near-misses, and incidents promptly.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Accurately track time, job notes, and required administrative items for billing/reporting.
    • Document materials used, scope changes, and completed work.

    Equipment & Service Vehicle Readiness

    • Keep service vehicle stocked with necessary tools, consumables, and basic parts.
    • Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition with regular inspections.

    Required Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training/certifications preferred).
    • 1+ years of field or industrial welding experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated TIG welding proficiency (required); Stick welding experience a plus.
    • Experience working in industrial environments and customer sites is preferred.

    Technical Skills

    • Strong working knowledge of TIG welding processes for stainless/food-grade applications.
    • Ability to fabricate, fit-up, and finish welds to high-quality standards.
    • Ability to read and work from prints, measurements, and weld symbols.

    Licenses/Certifications

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (local travel required).
    • Relevant welding or industrial maintenance certifications are a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
    • Ability to work in varied conditions (confined spaces, heights, noise, temperature changes).
    • Ability to travel regularly to customer sites; occasional overnight stays may be required.

    Work Environment

    • Field-based role working at customer locations such as manufacturing plants and industrial facilities.
    • Exposure to industrial hazards including machinery, electrical equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
    • Must provide personal transportation to/from job site (paid mileage/time per policy).
